-native to Northern Asia, 1-3 foot tall perennial
Culture
-average to rich, moist, well drained soil
-full sun or partial shade
-cut back after blooms to allow plant to rebloom from early to late summer
-propagate by division or from cuttings in late spring
-when watering avoid getting leaves wet
Use
-needs especially well drained soil to prevent root rot
Foliage
-hairy, lanced shaped, gray-green leaves
-produces deep blue flower spikes above dense foliage
-vertical flower spikes produce tiny individual blooms that rise able linear leaves
