Virtual/Visual Stream Study Expedition

Abstract:
The Berkshire Biology club learning community will take participants on a ‘visual’ field trip of Primary Headwater Habitats demonstrating student-created learning modules based on the pedagogy of VARK learning theory. Following an Auditory tutorial informational lecture in a typical classroom setting Reading from a projected powerpoint, participants will exit the classroom to have a Kinesthetic experience in a ‘Visual’ outdoor field trip area to study a ¼ scale stream. The learning experience will take place in the same room that has been divided into two sections: a classroom section and an ‘outdoor’ section demonstrating different pedagogical approaches.
