My name is Jon Roszak. I am currently a senior management major at Hiram College. I am a four year letter winner on the men's soccer team. I will graduate in May of 2012 and plan to seek a job in the marketing field.
Campus Day Community Service
During campus day I removed multiple invasive trees and shrubs as well as poison ivy and oak. I also removed invasive undergrowth around the Knot Garden. After all of the undergrowth and invasive plants were removed I then helped mulch the area in order to provide nutrients to healthy new plants. The work I did was useful in sustaining the Knock Garden and making it a more healthy environment.
Skills Learned
Throughout the course of this 12- week class I have learned much valuable information about the environmnet in which we live. I have learned what a watershed is and how to improve the overall quality of our watersheds. I have learned how to assess the quality of a wetland and the surrounding area using the ORAM. The information that has been gained through this class is extremely beneficial to helping preserve the environment to the best of our capabilities.
