Everyone needs water to stay healthy, but which type of water is right for you?
Below you will find a list of pros and cons for both filtered and additive water. You will also find two descriptions/stories that explain the advantages and disadvantages of both filtered water and additive water.
Filtered Water
Pros:
-Healthiest solution to tap water
-Removes most harmful contaminants
-More economical than bottled water
-Require no more energy to filter water, than it simply pumping through the plumbing system in the home
Cons:
-Cannot forget to change filter
-Must get the right kind
-If incorrect they will not be as efficient
-Not all filters will remove chlorine
-Removes both harmful AND beneficial minerals
Mineral Water
Pros:
-Minerals in water are better absorbed than from food
-Keeps all beneficial minerals
-Without, the body will take minerals from other places that need it
-Is pumped from a natural spring
-Mineral water spas have been said to work well for conditions such as arthritis and digestive issues
Cons:
-Sometimes seen as more “fashionable” to drink mineral water, than for its actual benefits
-Levels of minerals may not equal the cost of the actual bottle
-Some companies add certain minerals only to give more flavors
-Makes it not true mineral water
-Hot springs may not always work

I personally enjoy drinking water that is filtered. First off, it taste a lot better than bottled water that has additives such as fluoride (who wants tooth decay?!) and it also is a lot healthier for both adults and children. It is a healthier source of water for developing immune systems for young children. When the water is filtered it removes chlorine and bacterial toxins which not only make it healthier for you to drink, but it also makes the water smell better. Also the best part about filtered water is that it reduces rectal, colon, and bladder cancer. Filtered water can also be used for cooking, and is great because you can have it just as conveniently as tap water. Basically, when you drink filtered water you are drinking the organic minerals that your body needs, and not the additive minerals that are found in bottled water- the human body cannot break down those compounds, making it detrimental to your health.
When drinking water, my first and only choice is always mineral water. Mineral water is filled with things such as magnesium, chloride, bicarbonates, sulfate, silica and iron. These minerals help with balancing electrolytes, building strong teeth and bones, and help with your immune and digestive system. In the long run, because it the minerals in mineral water can easily be absorbed, mineral water helps prevent nutrition deficiencies, and breaks down all the wastes and cleanses the body of all toxins. The amount of minerals in mineral water is equivalent to taking a vitamin supplement. Strong filtered water takes out all these minerals, which leaves the consumer with drinking just water, with nothing that can benefit their health like mineral water can.
