Water and the Human Body

On a Saturday morning, at Hiram College two football players were argueing about whether or not water is good for you to drink before playing a game. Matt was trying to tell Cory that you should not drink water before playing a game because it could cause you to get light headed but instead you should drink a sports drink.
Cory did not believe that at all and tried to teach Matt all the information about water that he knew. Cory had taken some classes that he learned a lot about water and the importance that it has on human bodies.
What exactly does water do for our body?
