Headwater Habitat Evaluation Index (HHEI)
Objective: In 3 class periods (about 45 minutes each) the students will be able to perform a headwater habitat evaluation in the field, making all the necessary measurements and observations to be able to classify the headwater by category and predict the animals that will live there. This lesson plan consists of brief instructions, powerpoint slides to be used for reference, and the evaluation form.
Objective: The object of the water chemistry is to test the quality of the water in a wetland ecosystem. This activity can be completed in less than one class period.
Objective: This module contains many different tests and analysis directed towards pollution. This specific module focuses around the pollution in Portage County but that same activities can be done with a focus on any local town or county.
Objective: These activities lead to the personal awareness or students and their actions that effect the environment.
