ISLS Joins GLISTEN Civic engagement improves learning science through real world investigations

ISLS has partnered with three other Northeast Ohio Universities to promote stewardship of the Great Lakes through civic engagement of students. The Great Lakes Innovative Stewardship Through Education Network (GLISTEN) is a collaboration of universities, high schools and community partners to improve learning in science while engaging students in community based research of local watershed and wetland issues. Hiram College and the University of Akron joins with Case Western Reserve University, Oberlin College, Baldwin Wallace College, and Cuyahoga Community College in this regional effort involving the high schools of the ISLS program.  Kent State University Stark Campus has recently joined the team.
