Undergraduate stewardship liaisons were required to participate in service learning projects as part of their duties. Service learning combines formal instruction and community outreach. Two liaisons from Hiram College were teaching assistants for an introductory biology course. Their service learning involved creating QR codes for the wetlands at the James H. Barrow Field Station in Garrettsvile, OH. The QR codes acting as a learning tool for both the students and the community.
