Metric 4: Habitat Alteration and Development This metric in the ORAM is designed to focus on some of the aesthetics of the wetland under study. Does the ground look disturbed anywhere, any sign of human activity (ex. tire tracks, footprints, minimal to marginal habitat destruction). How much biodiversity is in the area, does it appear active and thriving with an abundance of wildlife (ex. plants, animals, insects, amphibians)? Overall, does the study area appear to have recovered from anything or is it in a lush, pristine state? You can tell by looking at the flora (plants) and the surrounding area. The age of the plants can help give away signs of alteration that have happened in the past.
