Dry Tortugas National Park

Due to its preserved nature, this abandoned fort and the surrounding waters provide a great opportunity for close interaction with multitudes of sea life. Observation of the bony fishes, echinoderms, crustaceans, etc. yielded concrete examples of species interactions (including symbiosis) as well as anatomical purpose (dorsal and ventral coloration). The class is able to snorkel frequently and camp for the evening on the beach as well as take a historical tour of the fort on the island.
