OVERVIEW:
Marine ecology is an indepth exploration of marine life in a 3 week academic experience in which participants create and complete several experiments. The program includes studies dealing with marine organisims, including Black Horn Snails, Mangrove Periwinkle Snails, common marine birds, and common marine vegetation. The participants present and write scientific papers on individual experiments conducted during the course. The presentations are made at the Rookery Bay National Estuary Research Reserve. Participants volunteer with Hiram Alumnus Pat O'Donnell aiding him with his research in shark monitoring and fish trawling between three main marine bays.
