Science From Ground Up By: Christian Barrus, Kathyrn Thomas, Anton Blatnik, Julia Ganz, Larrin Stewart, and Sean Doran. Abstract: A Kenston High School learning community will model a student-designed curriculum built by 5 high school students, a teacher and an undergraduate near-peer mentor. The presentation includes interactive discussion of a model for integration of the web-based project into the school’s science curriculum followed by participant visits to five stations where conference attendees explore environmental field work concepts first-hand from the student project designers. Stations include laser leveling stream morphology, internet mapping analysis, plus headwater and wetland classification. An internet station will showcase project content, photographs, and real data used in school site analysis as a model for other schools.
